Petzl, I Want In: Technical Writer for Tech Tips and PPE

Most manufacturers make equipment and publish instructions. Petzl does something harder: you build complete systems of knowledge around products, techniques, limitations, foreseeable misuse, inspection, and decision-making.

Your manuals are exceptionally clear. Your infographics make complex rope systems look almost obvious without pretending they are simple. The multilingual Tech Tips, ACCESS BOOKS, inspection guides and checklists, technical videos, ePPEcentre, ambassador projects, and public impact reports all reflect the same principle:

Useful knowledge is part of the product.

That is one of the main reasons I want to work with Petzl.

I am not looking to write another piece of generic product copy.

Give me:

• the article that requires interpreting complex standards, reconciling conflicting studies, examining internal test results, and interviewing the engineer who designed the device;
• the infographic where one incorrect arrow changes the meaning of the entire system;
• the inspection guide that must be precise without teaching users to retire every scratched carabiner;
• the Tech Tip that must explain not only what Petzl recommends, but why — and where that recommendation stops being applicable;
• the compatibility guide showing why two individually certified products may still behave poorly together;
• the technical page that must be rebuilt after a product, standard, or recommended technique has changed;
• the valuable explanation known by an engineer, trainer, inspector, or athlete but never properly documented.

I am a technical writer and researcher specializing in climbing equipment, rope systems, PPE, and vertical safety.

I can take a subject from question to publication: map the available evidence, interview specialists, verify technical claims, expose gaps and contradictions, structure the explanation, and turn it into a Tech Tip, ACCESS BOOK chapter, manual section, inspection document, infographic brief, or video script.

My job is to turn material that is technically dense, evidence-heavy, or easy to misrepresent into something accurate, readable, and visually explainable.

One unresolved compatibility question. One promising idea from an engineer, trainer, inspector, athlete, or Petzl Friend that deserves to become permanent knowledge.
